A dynamic installation of translucent panels, showing colorful imagery abstracted from natural processes, it explores motion and time, fostering contemplation of existence’s fluidity.

Details

Built for The Downtown Seattle Association’s Shine on Seattle event as a site-specific installation, Luminous Turbulescence is comprised of five vertical panels arranged in a zig-zag pattern, each measuring 7 to 8 feet tall and featuring a grid of translucent plastic tiles. Colorful, dynamic compositions, derived from abstracted slow-motion footage of natural elements, are rear-projected onto the panels, organized into five movements with distinct color palettes that continuously play in a random order.

The installation delves into the realm of motion, both as an aesthetic exploration and a reflection on the passage of time. Through abstracted imagery of elemental forces such as air, fire, and water, it celebrates the beauty of movement in its purest form, inviting viewers to contemplate the fluidity of existence. Blending projected imagery with physical form, the piece encourages a deep appreciation of the fleeting moments that define our experience.
